About Kastraki

The small tourist resort of Kastraki (“small castle” in Greek) is situated at a distance of some 15 kilometers southern to the town ofNaxos (Chora), at the southern part of the western coast of the island. You will swim at the long (more than 3 kilometers) beach in front of the settlement with the fine white sand and the crystal clear turquoise sea. The beach of Kastraki is successive to that of Mikri Vigla. You may also swim at the next beach, that of Glyfada. In fact, our region hosts some of the best Naxos beaches.

Less than 2 kilometers eastern to the settlement you can visit the Venetian castle “Pyrgos Oskelou”, one of Naxos’s few towers built close to the sea. It dates back to the 17th century and is distinguished by its considerable height and its strong defensive character. Traces of a Mycenaean acropolis are still visible on a site close to the village. It originally belonged to Ieronymos Conte, before its ownership was transferred to the Sommaripa family. Offering an exceptional view towards Paros and Ios, the tower is open to visitors.

Furthermore, Hotel Dimitra Studios Rooms and Apartments could be the starting point and your ‘base’ to discover the island.
